Inglewood Sunfest street party returns to Calgary

Jul 20 2016, 4:39 am

Mark your calendars for July 30 – one of Calgary’s biggest festivals is set to return to the city for another year.

Inglewood Sunfest will hit Calgary’s original Main Street from 11 am to 6 pm and is expected to draw more than 30,000 attendees. Grab some food from your favourite local food truck, listen to some live tunes, or take in the sleek lines of vintage cars and motorcycles for Show and Shine.

As an all-ages event, there’s plenty for kids, too. Bounce houses, trampolines, magic shows, and face painting are all available at the kid zone. For grownups, the Village Brewery Beer Garden is described as the “highlight” of the festival. Sample sangria or enjoy an ice-cold craft beer.

But what would Sunfest be without a pie eating contest? Six contestants will square off throughout the day with fruit pies from Double Elle bakery on the Inglewood Community Association Stage. This year, Sunfest is part of the Fringe Festival Kick-Off that will showcase a variety of theatre from July 29 to August 6.
