See Santa at Heritage Park's magical Once Upon a Christmas event

Nov 24 2018, 2:29 am

Heritage Park is officially in the Christmas spirit this weekend, as Saturday, November 24 marks the first day of their Once Upon a Christmas event.

The event will feature wagon rides, Christmas carols, and a visit by Mr. Claus himself at the historical village, and attendees will be able to learn about what Christmas was like back in the day as many of the homes and buildings will open their doors to the public.

New to the event for 2018 are performances by Acclamation Handbell Choir, festive photos with the Park’s Holiday Horses, a snowshoe race (weather permitting), woodworking by Calgary Carvers, and sidewalk art and snow painting.

Shopping will be available at the gift shops at the front gates, hot drinks and snacks can be found at the Railway Cafe, Wainwright Hotel Bar Room, and the Club Cafe (because that hot chocolate is a definite necessity), and a Christmas breakfast buffet will be served each morning — for an additional cost.

Admittance to the event will run adults $11, though discounts are available for children, youth, and seniors.

The Once Upon a Christmas event will be held at Heritage Park every Saturday and Sunday from November 24 to December 23, and tickets can be purchased online at Heritage Park’s website or at the gate.
