You'll dig 2016's Extreme Mudfest, bigger and better than ever before

Roll up your sleeves for this year’s Extreme Mudfest, which promises to be bigger and better than ever before.

The three-day country and rock music festival takes place from August 26 to 28 at the Bonnyville Rodeo Grounds serving up an action-packed weekend that combines music, racing, and mudding.

Even though it’s only in its second year, Extreme Mudfest has already doubled its capacity, making room for even more people to experience the festival in person.

“We made the decision to expand the Extreme Series to offer even more activities for the whole family,” says Emmalee Brunt, VP of marketing for 542 Entertainment Inc. “Our hope is to go beyond the traditional music festival and kick things up a notch, drawing attendees who may have interests other than music.”

Whether or not you dig country and rock music, you’ll find something to enjoy. From unleashing your competitive side in a weekend-long soft ball tournament to caking yourself from head to toe on the mud run, there’s something for everyone alongside the mudding, concerts, and late night parties that help make Extreme Mudfest one of the best summer events in Canada.

Keeping with the mud theme, this year’s highly anticipated Extreme Mudfest will be packed with three days of Canada’s largest four wheel drive vehicles. Cheer them on as they compete in mud pits for prizes from the Canadian Mud Racing Organization.

But this isn’t to distract from the talent lineup that promises to wow the crowd. Finish off the day on Friday and Saturday with the evening’s talented Canadian favourites. Dance along to Chad Brownlee, Trooper, Cold Creek County, Olivia Rose, and Six String Loaded.

Party on in true country and rock style with this year’s launch of the official late night party featuring performances by the Chris Buck Band. During the day, don’t fret if you’ve brought along the little ones – let them loose to play in the expanded Kids Zone, or the inclusive daytime childminding.

Camping is available for only $25 alongside the $95 early bird pass. Perfect for the outdoor enthusiast, all you need to do is pitch your tent to catch some sleep after a long day of mud themed activities.

Stay in the know about the festival via Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, using the hashtag #ExtremeMudFest.
