All-day breakfast and French pastries: Calgary's newest cafe is opening soon

There’s a new cafe coming to Kensington, and it sounds like it’s going to be a delicious addition to the burgeoning Calgary neighborhood.

It’s called the Espresso Cafe, but from what we can tell, this spot going to be way more than just a place to grab a quick cup of Joe.

Located at 273 10 Street NW just across the street from the newest Red’s Diner location, the Espresso Cafe is a French-inspired bakery which promises all-day breakfast (think pancakes, French toast) and healthy meals made from the locally grown organic produce. There will also be a selection of fair-trade coffee and pastries.

The menu is pretty extensive and covers everything from benedicts to burrito bowls.

The space will be “warm and spacious” and the cafe will host local performers on weekends along with offering discounts to Calgary Police Service, on duty paramedics, and firefighters too.

Sounds like a feel-good neighbourhood spot in the making, right? These guys plan to open the third week of February, and they are conveniently located just steps away from the Regal Cat Cafe, so you can coffee shop hop ’til you drop.
