Even though downtown Calgary has a plethora of brunch options, there are many eateries outside of YYC’s core that have some seriously strong brunch game as well.

These restaurants can satisfy any brunch lover’s hunger and the offerings are definitely worth the drive.

Here are 7 places to head for brunch outside of downtown Calgary.

1. Ace Coffee and Diner

Ace serves all-day breakfast with selections like their Daily Quiche, a Fig and Egger Breakfast Sandwich, a Croque Madame, and the Ace BLT to name a few. We recommend trying this spot’s Your-Way Omlettes because they are “bigger than your freakin’ head”, or so the menu claims – you can go in and see for yourself.

3. Dairy Lane Cafe

Dairy Lane Cafe is a Calgary favourite that offers breakfast all day, every day. The menu at this spot includes dishes like eggs benedicts, breakfast burritos, and stuffed French toast. If you’re heading here for brunch on a weekend we recommend arriving early, as the tables at Dairy Lane fill up quickly.

This local favourite has two locations and one is in Aspen Landing, meeting the brunch needs of hungry patrons outside of the core. Unlike the Edmonton Trail location guests can make reservations ahead of time here, so they can set a time to devour all the Jalapeño-Chorizo Sausage Benedicts and Mascarpone French Toast they can handle.

5. The Lake House

The Lake House serves brunch Sundays from 10am to 1:30pm. The menu here features Fresh Shucked East Coast Oysters, a Rocky Mountain Charcuterie Board, Banana Bread French Toast, and Maple Bacon Doughnuts.

6. Pfanntastic Pannenkoek Haus

The name of this place is a mouthful, but considering it serves 40 varieties of  savoury and sweet Dutch pancakes, we are definitely going to learn how to say it. Head here to enjoy unlimited combinations with the Build-Your-Own menu options as well, and did we mention this spot is fully licensed?

Address: 2439 54th Avenue SW
