Oct 1 2016, 4:44 am

Calgary’s awardwinning Autumn Pumpkin Festival gets started for another year this weekend, with gourds galore for all to enjoy.

Hundreds of pumpkins will be on display at the festival, which runs on weekends and holidays from Saturday, October 1 to Sunday, October 23.

Rather brilliantly, there will also be a Great Pumpkin Explosion every day – that’s right, they will be exploding pumpkins filled with candy for the kids.

As well, kids can enjoy free mini pumpkins and mini pumpkin decorating sessions daily, as well as pumpkin bowling and pumpkin checkers.

You can also grab some selfies among the pumpkins on display including Jack O’lanterns, Ghost Pumpkins, and Pie Pumpkins, ranging from two to 30 pounds in size!

The festival will be held at the Calgary Corn Maze, and all the usual attractions will be open there too for you visit, including the fun farm, petting zoo and of course, corn mazes.
