Vancouver’s well-known ‘Roller Girl’ could be running for mayor
Her real name is Angela Dawson, but many Vancouverites simply know her as “Roller Girl.”
Now, in a series of homemade videos posted to YouTube, Dawson has announced her intention to run (or roll) for the mayor’s seat in this fall’s upcoming municipal election.
In one of her videos, Dawson can be seen with another woman, who simply says “Vote for Angela Dawson for mayor…. because she’s super helpful around the community.”
Dawson is known for her bright pink outfits and headphones, which she wears while cruising around Vancouver’s downtown on rollerblades.
While the video may just seem like a one-off at first, Dawson also appears in another homemade video, declaring once again, her intention to run, and identifying herself as a “Vancouver icon.”
