10 St. Patrick's events to check out in Vancouver this month

With coronavirus on the rise, the BC Ministry of Health is reminding individuals who attend events and large gatherings to monitor their health for signs and symptoms of COVID-19. And if you’re not feeling well, they recommend staying home at this time. Also, due to unexpected cancellations, please check the event you plan to attend is still taking place. Wear your finest green and pull out the shamrock, because St. Patrick’s Day events are filling up Vancouver this month. From Ceilidh Mor 2020 to The Celtic Tenors, here are 10 events to celebrate Irish heritage in March.

Ceilidh Mor 2020

What: Celticfest presents the biggest Ceilidh west of the Rockies on March 13 at Hellenic Community Centre on March 13. Blackthorn, Vancouver’s longest running Celtic band, hosts the event which also includes The British Columbia Regiment (DCO) Irish Pipes & Drumsm Eire Born Irish Dance Company, and Scottish dance troupe Shot of Scotch Vancouver Company.

BMO St. Patrick’s Day 5K

What: The BMO St. Patrick’s Day 5K is a charity run through Stanley Park with net proceeds going to support Canadian Diabetes Association. There will be an awards ceremony and an afterparty with green beer, food, a DJ, and more.

WISE St. Patrick’s Day Pogue’s Tribute with Shane’s Teeth and Viper Central

Celticfest Vancouver – St. Patrick’s Day Family Event

What: CelticFest Vancouver hosts a free family event on March 15 at Vancouver’s Art Gallery Square. There will be a variety of live entertainment to check out, kids craft tent, beer garden, food trucks, and more.

Roedde House Classical Series Presents: Songs for St. Patrick

Shamrocks and Shenanigans at Vancouver TheatreSports

What: Vancouver TheatreSports celebrates all things Irish at Shamrocks & Shenanigans, the improv comedy company’s annual St. Paddy’s Day celebration on March 17. Enjoy a Celtic version of TheatreSports starting at 7:30 pm, plus encounter roving Lucky Charm Leprechauns and a Celtic Bard. There will be specials on Guinness, shots of Jameson’s Irish Whiskey and the obligatory green beer on draft.

St. Patrick’s Day Festival at Blarney Stone
