Rainfall warning issued for Metro Vancouver Wednesday afternoon

Oct 19 2017, 4:49 am

This probably isn’t going to surprise you as you stand soaked at the bus stop, but Metro Vancouver has got another heavy rainfall warning.

Environment Canada issued the warning just after 2 pm on Wednesday, saying they expect rain, at times heavy, all afternoon.

It applies to Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster, Coquitlam, Maple Ridge, North Vancouver, and West Vancouver, all the way up the Sea-To-Sky to Squamish.

For this immense soaking, you can blame a strong Pacific frontal system which has “stalled” over Vancouver Island, apparently.

Heavy rain is expected to continue throughout the afternoon, with 50 mm expected before our usual showers take over this evening.

Who knows how many more rain warnings we’ll get before we eventually just call this Fall?
