Anyone driving on Highway 1 in North Vancouver Saturday evening was faced with massive delays after a crash closed a stretch of the busy roadway in both directions for nearly six hours.
Just after 7 pm, emergency crews responded to a crash near the Mount Seymour Parkway exit.
The highway was closed in both directions from Lynn Valley Road to Mountain Highway. Drive BC advised drivers to use Lions Gate Bridge as an alternate route to the Second Narrows Bridge — and to expect heavy congestion.

Pictures sent to Daily Hive show firefighters attending to a white pickup truck, and also smoke billowing up from a vehicle.
It is not known how many people, if any, were injured in the crash.
DriveBC said the highway reopened to vehicle traffic at 1:18 am — nearly six hours after the accident.
