Some of these spots were planning to open much sooner, but alas, that’s just the way the cookie crumbles. If good things come to those who wait then we are all in for one heck of a treat over the next 365 days.

After closing at their OG spot in Kitsilano, the eatery has announced they’ll be reopening at a new location and it will house two concepts. Patrons will soon find Moderne Burger’s epic shakes and eats at 865 West Broadway, but they’ll also find something new: Burgerette, a “slightly smaller” version of Moderne Burger. This spot will be opening in January.

Zaatar W Zeit is set to open at 535 Granville Street, and we’re hoping it’s soon. This spot is pop-u-lar in the Middle East (once you peep their Instagram, you’ll see why). We wouldn’t be surprised if you hadn’t heard of this eatery before because it’s the first Canadian location for the Lebanese chain.
