UPDATED: Massey Tunnel closed in both directions due to car fire

UPDATE (7:19 am) – The tunnel has reopened in the southbound direction, however northbound traffic is still blocked. 

Heads up commuters, if you take the Massey Tunnel on your way to work then you might want to give yourself extra time this morning.

UPDATE – #BCHWY99 #MasseyTunnel vehicle on fire in right lane NB. Traffic stopped in both directions. Expect delays due to congestion.

Currently the tunnel is closed in both directions due to a vehicle that is on fire in the right lane in the northbound direction.

Traffic cams show traffic backed up in both directions and Drive BC is warning motorists to expect delays.
