Nov 23 2016, 3:05 am

Have you always wanted to go to the North Pole? Look no further than the top of Grouse, where Jolly Old St. Nick awaits.

Grouse Mountain will be transformed into a winter wonderland for its annual Peak of Christmas event beginning on Friday, November 25.

“We are excited to welcome visitors of all ages to Vancouver’s North Pole for our Peak of Christmas celebration,” said Grouse Mountain’s Communications Manager, Julia Grant in a release.

“Whether it’s a visit with Santa and his reindeer, a stroll along our enchanting Light Walk or watching a Christmas movie in the Theatre in the Sky, there’s opportunities for everyone to take part in the magic of the holiday season.”

This year’s Light Walk features new installations, including a 23-foot reindeer and light walls.

For more outdoor fun, visitors can take a spin on Grouse Mountain’s 8,000-square foot outdoor ice skating pond or zip down the multi-lane snow sliding zone.

At Santa’s Workshop, believers young and old can share their special Christmas wishes and take a photo. Visits are by donation with all proceeds raised going towards the British Columbia SOS Children’s Village.

Santa’s elves have also been busy decorating in the Peak Chalet, which will feature an enchanting Gingerbread Village. Visitors can vote for their favourite Gingerbread Village creation to select a grand prize winner, with funds raised also benefiting SOS Children’s Village.

And if you really want to get to know St. Nick, join him breakfast from Saturday, December 3 to Saturday, December 24, and be sure to get on his good list.
