Friendly Snackbar opens tomorrow and they have vegan ice cream tacos to celebrate
Friendly Snackbar is a brand new eatery opening tomorrow, May 5, at 2408 Main Street.
The new plant based and gluten free snack bar will offer baked goods, smoothies, Spark Kombucha, fresh rice bowl, vegan ice cream, chocolate, and more.
Just as its name would imply, Friendly is a venture made possible by a community coming together and creating something awesome for the neighbourhood.
The all-female team of owners of this spot includes Say Hello Sweets owner Naomi Arnaut, Zimt Chocolates owner Emma Smith, The Wallflower and The Smallflower owner Lisa Skelton, and manager of both of those establishments, Natalie Swatez.
Together, these ladies, along with other business owners and friends in the community, transformed the 600 square-foot space from a hair salon to an adorable pretty-in-pink conscious cafe that sits 16 in just 21 days.
Other offerings from Friendly include smoothie bowls, a selection of basic toasts and avocado toasts, Zimt Chocolates, The Smallflower pastries, along with take-home pints of the ice cream.
To celebrate the opening on May 5 – AKA Cinco de Mayo – people are invited to come down and enjoy Say Hello Sweets’ vegan ice cream tacos from noon to 9 pm.
There will be four flavours of ice cream available at first and they will continuously rotate. The tacos and ice cream cones are made at The Smallflower and they are gluten free, and let us tell you, this treat will change your life.
So if you’re in the neighbourhood, be sure to stop by Friendly to get in on the good eats and good vibes.
