New map shows free or low cost food around Vancouver for those in need

On Wednesday, the City of Vancouver released a new map showing where people in need can find free or low cost food around town.

Originally the brainchild of Steph Limage from Limage Media, this resource aims to provide residents with over 50 communities, charities, and business organizations they can access for grub.

Local food providers have expanded their existing programs to help as many people affected by the pandemic as they can.

The map “builds upon Limage Media’s map and a pre-COVID food asset map collated by Vancouver Coastal Health to provide up-to-date information about low cost food programs currently available city-wide.”

This resource will continue to be updated regularly in PDF format in English. It will also soon be available in Chinese, Punjabi, Tagalog, and Vietnamese, and in an interactive, web-based format too.

You can check out the map here and read more details about the awesome meal programs around the city, as well as what times you may access them.
