Earth Day Fundraiser & Student Art Show at Bandidas Taqueria

Sunday, April 22nd is Earth Day, and that means it's time for another fundraiser here at Bandidas! Along with the Earth Day fundraiser, we'll be hosting a student art show, and a sidewalk festival.

The Fundraiser:
- 100% of our profits from the day's sales of food and drink will be donated to RAVEN Trust, and their "Step Up For Coast Heroes Campaign" for the Heiltsuk Nation
- The Heiltsuk Nation is still suffering the effects of a 2016 oil spill that devastated their community and way of life
- The Raven Trust campaign will help them take legal action to recover damages to their economy and environment, as well as tackling and changing Canada's oil spill response system

The Art Show:
- Six classes from four East Van schools are working to create environment themed art pieces, that will hang on our walls, as of Earth Day weekend.

The Sidewalk Festival:
- Victory Gardens will be holding a seed and seedling sale, with proceeds going to The Classroom Gardener
- Earnest Ice Cream will be there with their ice cream truck
- A representative from Raven Trust will be there to answer questions about the Heiltsuk Nation Campaign
- A variety of music from local musicians and buskers will be the soundtrack for the event
