This Christmas, get ready to celebrate the holiday season at one of the most unique events Vancouver has ever seen.

Enchant 2016 will bring the world’s largest Christmas light maze to the heart of the city, combined with a bustling local vendor market, live performances, warming seasonal eats and drinks, an outdoor fire pit, and much more.

Located on 1st and Crowe Street, between the Cambie Street Bridge and Olympic Village, this event will allow guests of all ages to escape to a magical holiday wonderland that truly captures the spirit of Christmas.

The event is created by SHINE, a Vancouver-based Christmas lighting company and will support a variety of charities, including Variety – The Children’s Charity, Canuck Place, Ronald McDonald House BC and Yukon, Music Heals, and Backpack Buddies.

The Christmas maze is without a doubt Enchant’s biggest attraction. Guests meet Santa Claus to help find his nine missing reindeer, which have gotten lost in the maze. Help save Christmas by exploring seven diverse worlds of light and bringing Santa his reindeer back!

Brought to you by SHINE, this fascinating maze will combine some of the most beautiful and complex light structures that Vancouver has ever seen.

From 23-foot-tall reindeer and trees to stars and snowy caves, the maze will be illuminated by gorgeous lights, to create a magical experience right in the heart of the city. You also must see the 64-foot-tall spectacular tree in the middle of the maze, with over 85,000 LED lights.

The entire maze will consist hundreds of thousands of lights and will take between 20-30 minutes to complete.

SHINE is the company behind the lights at some of the most popular venues/attractions around BC, including Park Royal, and Pacific Centre. They also produced the stunning Light Walk around Blue Grouse Lake, a seasonal attraction that broke attendance records at Grouse Mountain, BC.

The market

Beside the incredible maze, Enchant will also feature a unique Christmas market combining a variety of local vendors and artisans for holiday shopping.

Guests will get a chance to browse speciality products from talented craftspeople, as well as enjoy delicious seasonal treats from 12 delicious food trucks.

There will also be a licensed, cozy eating area where of-age guests can also enjoy a sip of their favourite holiday drink, including mulled wine, craft beers, buttered rum, eggnog, and much more.

A limited number of positions are still available for vendors and businesses looking to get involved in the Enchant Christmas market. If you’re interested in being part of this magical experience, click here to secure your spot today.

Lastly, Enchant 2016 will debut a special new Christmas storybook written by local storyteller Leanne Johnston and illustrated by Sebastian S.C.

The story follows the aftermath of a disastrous snowstorm that hits the North Pole the night before Christmas.

Santa wakes up to see the town buried in snow and his reindeer missing, without which he cannot fly around the world and Christmas would have to be cancelled.

Children around the world are asked to explore the enchanted light fields of the North and search for the missing reindeer in an attempt to save the world’s biggest holiday.

Guests will be able to bring home this beautifully illustrated storybook as a souvenir of this unforgettable event.
