Cirque du Soleil will be celebrating its 30th Anniversary in style in Vancouver on Monday, June 16 with a fun-filled day of birthday festivities.
The Quebec-based arts organization will be treating Vancouverites to free cupcakes and popcorn, surprise ticket giveaways and a mesmerizing short pop-up performance. Mayor Gregor Robertson will also be on hand for a special announcement, proclaiming June 16 Cirque du Soleil Day in Vancouver. Additionally, a special fireworks show will be held at the Plaza of Nations on June 21.
The anniversary celebration will kick off at 8:00 a.m. on June 16 at the Pacific Centre Plaza on the corner of West Georgia Street and Howe Street. The public is invited and encouraged to join in on the celebrations!
The celebrations run in conjunction with Cirque du Soleil’s Vancouver run of TOTEM which is playing at Concord Pacific Place through July 6, 2014.
To thank Vancouverites for their support, Cirque du Soleil will be hosting a free, stunning fireworks display on Saturday, June 21 after the 8 p.m. performance of TOTEM.
The fireworks show will take place at approximately 10:30 p.m. at the Plaza of Nations in False Creek.
In celebration of its 30th anniversary, Cirque du Soleil has added three performances to its Vancouver run of TOTEM where all seats will be reduced to $30.
The additional $30 show dates include Thursday June 19 that 4:30 p.m., Thursday June 26 at 4:30 p.m. and Friday June 27 at 4:30 p.m. For tickets and more information about this special offer, visit www.cirquedusoleil.com/vancouver30. Quantities are limited.
