Local event organizers brand.LIVE have announced plans to take the Celebration of Light 2015 to a new level to celebrate the fireworks festival’s 25th anniversary.
This year’s participating countries are China (July 25), Brazil (July 29) and Canada (August 1).
In addition to the return of the free SHOREFEST concert series, The Keg Lounge and the YVR Observation Deck, organizers are introducing two new spaces to enjoy the nighttime fireworks: a licensed, ticketed lounge at the English Bay Inukshuk and a family-friendly, licensed bistro in the Sunset Beach Park that will not require tickets for admission.
Tickets for all ticketed areas go on sale on April 1 at www.celebrationoflight.com.
It was in the summer of 1990 that Vancouverites experienced their first multi-night summer fireworks festival on the shores of English Bay – and it has returned for every consecutive summer ever since. The future of the festival is secured for another three more years thanks to Honda Canada’s renewed commitment to return as the title sponsor.
“The Honda Celebration of Light showcases Vancouver on the world stage and continues to be one of Vancouver’s best-known and most popular summer festivals,” said Mayor Gregor Robertson.
“The festival has become a signature summer event for residents and visitors alike and is a huge boost to our vibrant local economy.”
All shows begin at 10 p.m. and end at 10:25 p.m – rain or shine.
