Burnaby finally has a cool cafe that offers brunch platters and bingsoo

While Burnaby has always had a pretty epic selection of eateries, it hasn’t exactly been known as a place to find Instagrammable urban culinary paradises – until now.
La Forêt opened its doors for its soft launch on September 1, and people have been going crazy for the bakery, cafe, and brunch spot.

Just one glance around the interior of the cafe and you’ll understand why – it’s pretty freakin’ beautiful. This place is huge – 5,000 square feet huge – and they plan on building a patio to add to that.
The walls feature a broad selection of greenery and plants that are meant to have diners feeling like they are in the thick of the forest – except a forest that also has delicious cake.
Owner Yeawon Lee told Daily Hive that the cafe specializes in French desserts, especially cake. It typically sells out quickly, but if you can grab one of these little slices, you’ll be in heaven.
If you peep the geo tag on Instagram, it’s clear to see people have been loving this spot’s brunch. With a selection of smoothies, breakfast sandwiches, paninis, and waffles there’s something for everyone on the cafe’s menu.
Diners can enjoy breakfast platters – yes, platters – daily from 11 am to 2 pm, that include bacon, avocado, bulgogi, and waffle options.
We can’t forget to mention the bingsoo up for order either. These guys are available in original (red bean and mochi), green tea, mango, and strawberry.
In the unlikely case that you’re not hungry when you arrive, not to worry, La Forêt has a fantastic selection of brewed beverages to choose from. They offer a collaboration brew with Timbertrain Coffee Roasters, the ‘La Forêt Blend’, along with Phil and Sebastian and TWG Tea.
With a menu like this it’s a good thing La Forêt has 100 seats available, including comfy chairs and locally-made benches.
See if you can squeeze in for a bite soon, it’s definitely worth it.
La Forêt is open Monday to Friday from 8 am to 11 pm and weekends from 9 am to 11 pm.
