Bentall 6 Office Tower

Dec 19 2017, 12:54 pm

The new Bentall 6 office tower has been approved and development will commence when the market demand is there as the Vancouver office market is starting to pick up. The proposed tower will be across Vancouver’s tallest tower, The Shangri-La and will be located on 745 Thurlow  (currently home to a parkade and street level retail).

The tower will be 91 metres (23 floors) tall. It will have approximately 40,000 square feet of retail space and rumour has it that one or two luxury brands may occupy the space. That would make sense as Burberry and Escada are also on that corner and Alberni continues it’s trend of adding luxury brands. This may also be the location of the rumoured Nordstrom Rack store as a Nordstrom would require more space.

One of the unique features that are being touted for the project is  an integrated LED artwork across the south and east facades of the building. What that exactly means is yet to be revealed. However, it seems like an interesting idea.

More on this as it develops…
