Think of this upcoming production as Cirque du Soleil in a much more intimate setting, and with a full dinner.
Over the final two months of 2018, Queen Elizabeth Park, the highest point of Vancouver, will be home to a one-of-a-kind gourmet cabaret cirque production that puts fine dining, comedy, and circus under a giant enclosed tent.
Bacio Rosso is a three-hour performance that features artists from around the world, including magicians, jugglers, trapeze artists, contortionists, clowns, singers, and comedians.
All the while, spectators will feast on a delicious four-course gourmet meal curated by La Quercia’s Adam Pegg, an award-winning Vancouver chef who specializes in Italian cuisine.
It will take place in the hilltop park’s parking lot near West 37th Avenue, next to the tennis courts and golf course, within an antique Belgian Spiegeltent – a tent with an interior that features lush red velvet, handcrafted woodwork, and over 2,000 bevelled mirrors. There will be multiple stages, a full-service bar, and dining tables that position over 300 spectators in the heart of the thrilling and absurd action.
The event runs most nights of the week from November 1 to December 31, 2018, with most of the dinner shows starting at 7 pm.
“Bacio Rosso is an opportunity for Vancouver audiences to experience the joy, magic and
humour of this exceptionally enchanting evening, and we could not be more excited to showcase the first of its kind in Canada,” said Scott Malcolm, the artistic director of Bacio Rosso.
This Vancouver production is being billed as Canada’s first ever gourmet cabaret cirque event.
