A new Cirque du Soleil show inspired by James Cameron’s Avatar is coming to Vancouver.

TORUK – The First Flight will be playing for a limited time only at Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver from December 14 to 18.

The show, which is Cirque du Soleil’s 37th production, promises to transport audiences to the visually stunning world of Pandora which was first introduced in Cameron’s Oscar-winning smash.

“Through a riveting fusion of cutting-edge visuals, puppetry and stagecraft buoyed by a soaring cinematic score, Cirque du Soleil applies its unique signature style to James Cameron’s imaginary world,” the company said in a press release.

“Narrated by a ‘Na’vi Storyteller’ and populated by unforgettable characters, TORUK – The First Flight is a mythical tale set thousands of years before the events depicted in the film Avatar, and before any humans ever set foot on Pandora.”

Tickets for TORUK – The First Flight will be available beginning this Friday, August 19 at www.cirquedusoleil.com/toruk.
