UPDATED: 15-year-old killed by falling tree in Surrey

UPDATE: The 15-year-old boy who was hit by a falling tree in Surrey has died.

Doug Stratchan with the Surrey school district says the Clayton Secondary student was walking home from school when he was hit by a falling tree.

Asst. Chief Brian Woznikowski with Surrey Fire Service says they received a call around 2:30 pm after a tree fell on 188th Street near Clayton Heights Secondary.

When they arrived at a wooded area nearby, they found the teenager and performed CPR.

 

The teenager was transported to hospital but did not survive.
