A vegan ice cream bar and block party is coming to Toronto

An influx of new meat-free restaurants, bakeries, and breweries is only the beginning of the aggressive veganization of Toronto’s Parkdale neighbourhood. Now, there’s a new retro 70s-inspired ice cream bar opening soon too.

The soft serve shop called Not Your Mother – “Not Your Milk” (or NYM for short) is opening inside of the Vegandale Brewery and promises a menu of “next level” desserts like the Apple II, a vanilla soft serve topped with flaky pie crumbles, apple pie sauce, caramel and bacon bits.

Not to mention this ice cream bar will be serving up soft serve swirls ordered in housemade bubble waffle cones and blended into frosty milkshakes.

“Our expansion means there’s room for more vegans,” joked Eva Lampert, Director of Vegan Operations. “We want to show Toronto how simple it is to live without the use of animals, and by providing more vegan dining options, we are making it that much easier!” Fans are encouraged to follow NYM’s Facebook and Instagram pages to stay up to date on important details.

NYM opens alongside the Vegandale Brewery, and the new vegan danish bakery, Copenhagen Cafe, on August 2, 2018.

The openings will be celebrated over the August long weekend from 5 pm on August 2, wrapping up on Sunday, August 5.
