Listen up, youth of Canada.

On Tuesday morning, the federal government announced they are seeking Canadian youth to form a Youth Council. The announcement came from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau himself, as he took to Twitter for a Q&A session.

The Youth Council will advise the Prime Minister on national issues, such as employment, education, and climate change, and will be expected to meet multiple times a year. To apply, candidates must be Canadian citizens, a landed immigrant or protected person, and 16 to 24 years old. The process requires applicants to fill out an online application form before the deadline, August 12, to be selected as part of the first wave of Youth Council.

A second wave of Youth Council, who will join the inaugural members, have until October 7 to apply.

The application form will be launched on July 22.
