It's official... Toronto smashed 24-year-old temperature record today

Feb 21 2018, 4:04 am

As mentioned yesterday, Toronto had the chance of breaking a record temperature high today.

And we did.

According to Environment Canada, the current high in Toronto is 15°C. That’s almost 3°C higher than the highest temperature on record for a February 20, between 1938 and 2013, when it was 12.4°C in 1994.

The average high for this time of year is  -0.6°C, which is almost 15°C colder than what we’re feeling today.

While it is warm, it is also windy and rainy out there.

Environment Canada is calling for periods of rain, which ends this afternoon, then mainly cloudy with 40% chance of showers. Winds will pick up gusting to 60 km/hr this afternoon.

Showers are expected to return later this evening, but it will still feel like a mild 11°C.

The mild weather will continue on Wednesday, before dipping back to near freezing on Thursday.

So while we have to carry umbrellas for two days, enjoy the milder temperatures while they last.
