It seems Toronto weather is not paying much attention to the calendar, ’cause despite fall arriving tomorrow, this weekend could set a heat record in the city.
According to Environment Canada, the hottest ever September 23 Toronto has ever seen was back in 1959 when temperatures reached 30.6°C in the city. Not too shabby for the second day of fall.
But this Saturday, September 23, the forecast is calling for a high of 30°C, which means it has more than a decent chance of breaking the nearly 60-year-old heat record – after all, 1 degree more is certainly within range. Meanwhile, The Weather Network is currently calling for a high of 28°C that will ‘feel like’ 34°C on Saturday.
Either way, the first weekend of fall is going to feel more like summer than summer ever did.
Make sure you get outside, and let’s hope we hit that record!
