Top 6 in the 6ix: Can’t miss Toronto events September 11 to 17

Now that we’re only a few weeks away from the official start of fall, there’s no better time to get outside and enjoy what warm weather we have left.

And luckily for you, there are plenty of outdoor events happening in the city. From a massive food truck festival featuring mouth-watering snacks from some of the best food trucks in the province to a cultural street festival in the heart of Roncesvalles.

From September 11 to 17, here are the hottest events in the city.

Toronto Beer Week

What: Just because the warm days of summer are slowly getting behind us it doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy one last beer festival before fall officially begins. Celebrating local craft brew, this week-long beer festival features dozens of different breweries, bars and restaurants around the city.

When: September 15 to 23

Food Truck Festival Ontario

What:  FTFO brings the most mouthgasmic food trucks to one place so you can eat like a true Foodstar. This year’s lineup includes Tiny Tom Donuts, Food Dudes, Fully Loaded T.O, Bake Three Fifty, and much more. If you want the true VIP foodie experience, you can buy the $25 Foodstar upgrade that lets you enter the festival before the general public with no lineups and participate in the Foodstar photo experience.

Toronto Ukrainian Festival

What: This three-day entertainment experience celebrates the incredible Ukrainian Canadian community. From music to food and plenty of dancing, make sure to support the community and experience this massive Bloor West festival.

Roncesvalles Polish Festival

What: Wrap up summer by attending North America’s largest celebration of Polish culture in Toronto’s best neighbourhood. The festival will feature local and international music, fantastic cuisine from over 40 renowned restaurants, cafes, bakeries, and bistros, along Roncesvalles, and of course, lots of traditional Polish fare.

The Famous Canadian Beer Run

What: On your marks, get set, beer! Toronto will be hosting a 5 km Beer Run, and once the race is over the party truly starts. Sample some delicious craft brews and delectable offerings from dozens of Toronto’s best food trucks. Cider and vodka cocktails will also be available for your sipping pleasure.

Toronto Garlic Festival

What: Taste delicious garlic-themed dishes paired with Ontario craft beer and wine at this amazing garlic themed festival. Attendees can enjoy sweet and savoury garlic inspired dishes from 20 chefs, as well as meet farmers, chefs, artists and garlic historians. Admission is $5.
