Last week, the world mourned the loss of legendary soul singer Aretha Franklin, who lost her life to ongoing health complications at age 76.

You can pay your respects to the Queen of Soul through song this week, as Toronto’s very own CHOIR! CHOIR! CHOIR!, the open choir group, will be hosting a tribute concert for Franklin.

Taking place Thursday night at Toronto’s Great Hall concert venue at 8 pm, the performance is all ages and pay what you can.

“She was an absolutely phenomenal singer, a master interpreter with the ability to take great songs and turn them into anthems that will never be forgotten,” reads the Facebook event page.

“She was one of a kind. So, in honour of her, we plan on paying tribute in the best way we know how. To sing one of her most iconic songs, together.”

The group plans to sing Franklin’s “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman,” and is inviting Torontonians to join them during their tribute.
