Toronto will see 99.9% coverage during the next solar eclipse
The Great North American Solar Eclipse took place yesterday, and while Toronto certainly enjoyed the show, the 2024 solar eclipse is going to absolutely blow everyone away.
Yesterday, eclipse coverage above Toronto peaked at 76%. On April 8, 2024, however, Toronto will be as close to the path of direct totality as possible without technically being in it.
How close? Well, how’s 99.9% sound?
According to Time and Date, Toronto will be able to see 99.92% solar coverage during the 2024 solar eclipse at exactly 3:19 pm.

The entire duration of the 2024 eclipse will be 2 hours, 26 minutes, 40 seconds.
Of course, if 99.9% just isn’t enough for you, you can drive down to Hamilton to get 100% coverage. Either way, despite being 7 years away, if yesterday’s show in the sky got you excited – you ain’t seen nothin’ yet.
