The Rise: TSN's Michael Landsberg opens up about battling depression

Jan 30 2019, 11:56 pm

If you don’t know Michael Landsberg, you’ve either been living under a rock or just weren’t alive for the past 30 years. He’s a TSN and Canadian sports broadcast legend and he’s learned how to deal with and is helping others battle a very common illness – depression.

Through his #SickNotWeak movement, he is changing the game by delivering a different message. For years people looked at depression as a form of weakness, but it’s actually a very mutual struggle that we all share; many, though, are further along the spectrum than others.

Michael’s message is simple, “helping is healing.” It’s a terrific mantra that affects all of us. We have the opportunity to hold out a hand every day and lend our support, but more often than not we stay in our little comfort zones and turn a blind eye to the situation.

Michael and Sick Not Weak are working to change the stigma and they’re not alone in their efforts.
