69 people hospitalized after 2 school buses catch fire in St-Eustache (VIDEO)

Sixty-nine people, most of whom are children, were sent to hospital after two school buses caught fire off of Highway 640 close to St-Eustache this morning.

The fire started after an accident involving both buses and another vehicle occurred just before Exit 11.

Québec 511 confirmed that all the children and both bus drivers safely evacuated the vehicles.

The Sûreté du Québec confirmed to Daily Hive that none of the 69 people taken to hospital were treated for life-threatening injuries.

Urgences-Santé paramedic Michel Thibodeau shared dashcam footage of the accident’s aftermath to Facebook, at just after 10 am this morning.

According to officials, the three-vehicle accident occurred when one of the buses, trailing a car, failed to slow down before rear-ending the vehicle. The second bus then collided with the first, and both erupted in flames.

None of the drivers involved in the accident were injured.
