Lyft and Uber FINALLY approved to operate in Vancouver

British Columbia is finally hopping on the Uber and Lyft wagon.

Just over a month after the provincial Passenger Transportation Board (PTB) approved the first “ridehailing” licences in BC, the board announced today that it has officially approved applications for services in the province.

Until today, Vancouver had been the largest city in all of North America without the major ridesharing services.

During the holidays, over 100,000 out-of-towners opened the popular Uber app in Vancouver,  hoping to access the same service that’s offered in various other cities around the world.

The provincial government had previously promised to have ridehailing up and running by the end of 2019.

Hit the road, BC!
