This off-the-beaten-path spot is often called the Eighth Wonder of the World

We’ve all seen the majestic fields in Sapa, Vietnam, or the Insta-worthy terraces of Bali, Indonesia. But have you heard about these less touristy rice fields?

The Batad rice terraces in Banaue, a northern region of the Philippines, are slightly more off the beaten tourist track and are truly spectacular. Often called the Eighth Wonder of the World, it’s said that if all the rows were lined up end-to-end, they would circle half the globe.

That’s a lot of rice terraces, guys.

You can access Banaue via a 10-hour bus ride from Manila, and embark on a two or three-day trek through the countryside. You will come across hilly rows of green rice crops, taking in the stunning landscape, tranquillity, waterfalls, and quaint local villages along the way.

We need this in our lives and our Insta feeds ASAP.
