Comforting items are a great way to add new textures and colours into your home without having to commit to those colours for years.

The bright yellow colour of Illuminating will look homely  against the neutral colours of most sofas.

If you have a bright coloured sofa, try using Ultimate Grey in order to avoid colours clashing or becoming too loud. We love how these cozy items can brighten up the look of a home while providing functionality to a space.

Home accessories

Accessorizing is a fantastic way to change up the look of your home. Use a bright yellow tray, a grey statue or colourful books to bring in these trendy colours.

You could even use pillar candles or new dishes for a functional way to bring in these colours if accessories aren’t your thing. We love how easy it is to change colours and the feel of a room when you use accessories to achieve the look you want.

For a more impactful change try switching out your bedding and lamps for 2021.

You can use the grey tones for that neutral look or use the Illuminating yellow if you feel a pop of colour is what your home needs. Lamps, duvet covers, towels and other items that are used regularly should be changed once in a while.

Feel where your home needs a change most and don’t be afraid to actually make the change. A bold move like this pays off and becomes a statement of your home.

Of course if you are in love with this yellow and grey trend the boldest move you can make would be to change up your paint colour, flooring, and appliances.

Grey and yellow have been statement colours often used together for years, it’s undeniable that these colours go exceedingly well together. If you love it, then why not go for it. Paint your kitchen or bathroom cabinets grey and use yellow accessories to complete the look. Or if you really want to make a statement a yellow couch or even a bright new oven would leave people talking about your interior decorating skills for years.

I love these Pantone colours for 2021, whichever direction you decide to go with them they are sure to make a statement. Whether you only want to change your home a little to update it for the new year, or you want to take this inspiration and run with it to completely redesign your home, I encourage you to make the change. As a designer I think it’s so important to make sure you love what’s in your home, and it’s important to change things up sometimes. So take the inspiration and run with it, with great colours like these you really can’t go wrong!
