Ontario has revealed its long awaited brand name for its cannabis agency.
As legalization nears, the province will be selling weed under the name the “Ontario Cannabis Store.”
And its logo is just as exciting as its creative name.
The province will use “Ontario Cannabis Store” for its physical shops and online channel.
“The name is designed to convey a safe, simple and approachable environment for consumers, and agency employees, in a clear and easily understood manner,” states the LCBO Cannabis updates page. “We are confident the brand name and logo will help ensure Ontarians are able to safely and easily identify Ontario Cannabis Stores as the sole legal retailer of non-medical cannabis in Ontario.”
If simplicity was their target, they clearly achieved it.
And the Twittersphere has really taken to the new logo.

I dunno, everybody is saying the Ontario Cannabis Store logo is boring, but if you flip it 90 degrees to the right, you can turn it into a fancy little cowboy on a saddle. #onpoli pic.twitter.com/dvIVWd1myu

But this user clearly nails it when it comes to the designers…
The designers of the Ontario Cannabis Store logo clearly have never smoked cannabis.
