There's a Chef’s Harvest Garden Party happening in Toronto this weekend

Sep 19 2017, 8:10 pm

Top chefs from across Toronto are getting together for an epic tapas party this weekend.

Taking place in the lush, 14,000 square foot gardens at Thistletown Collegiate Institute in Etobicoke, The Chef’s Harvest Garden Party aims to raise funds towards a food-focused student trip to Spain.

“Many of my students face economic challenges. International trips are usually reserved for more affluent schools, but I wanted to work with students on fund-raising projects to prove that through hard work and determination, dreams can be realized and obstacles overcome,” says Chef Keith Hoare, head of the culinary program at Thistletown Collegiate Institute.

The Food Network’s Christine Cushing and CBC’s Shahir Massoud of The Goods host the evening featuring an all-star roster of participating Toronto chefs including Nick Liu (DaiLo), John Placko (Modern Culinary Academy), Trevor Lui (Kanpai Snack Bar), Dan Craig (Ritz Carlton), Keith Pears (Delta Toronto), Michael Olson (Canada Food & Wine Institute), Steve Gonzalez (Baro), Rene Chauvin and Sam Glass (Centennial College), Steffany Singh (Beau Bakery), and of course, the culinary students at Thistletown C.I.

Ticket includes ten food stations featuring tapas as well as cooking demos, a silent auction, and “a chance to schmooze with the who’s who of the culinary world.”
