Hold on to your hats and umbrellas, Toronto. Environment Canada has just issued a special weather statement for the city.

According to the weather agency, there will be strong winds in the area on Friday.

“Strong westerly winds are forecast to develop in association with a frontal passage Friday,” states the warning. “Wind gusts of 70 to 80 km/h are expected in the afternoon and early evening, with higher winds possible in thunderstorms.”

While it will be warm tomorrow, there is a risk of strong thunderstorms throughout the day. So you will need your umbrella.

The rain will clear for the weekend, as much cooler temperatures are expected through to next week.
