Canadian rapper Drake is pushing back the release date of his next album,Ā Certified Lover Boy, because he’s been focused on healing from a knee injury.

The star shared the update to his Instagram story Wednesday, saying he plans to release the album later in 2021.

“I was planning to release my album this month but between surgery and rehab my energy has been dedicated to recovery,” Drake wrote.

The Toronto-born artist has been sharing images of his knee in a brace on Instagram lately, but he hasn’t said what exactly went wrong. The recovery process is going well though, according to his latest update.

“I’m blessed to be back on my feet. Feeling great and focused on the album, but CLB won’t be dropping in January.”

Looks like we’ll have to wait for word about when to expect his next collection of songs.
