As I was photographing this image, I came across a Swedish man, named Gabriel, who owned an Ad agency in Sweden and was in Toronto on business. As we got talking (talking is usually quite boring) he asked why I was photographing this particular location and I said what I normally do, "I'm capturing a unique perspective of a classic landmark in Toronto." Obviously bored by my response, he sat with a perplexed look on his face for a couple of minutes while I continued to shoot. But right before he left, he asked if I wanted to hear his thoughts on "perspectives" in photography and of course I said yes. As always I took out my phone and voice recorded his thoughts. His thoughts were beautiful and his ideas were more than worthy of sharing! He said the following, ~ ~ "I have trouble with the idea of a perspective. In essence, a perspective is just a unique or different way of capturing or creating the objective art work of every day life. Your evolving perspective is placed on every one of your creative endeavors, not one particular object. With this said, what is the objective work of art that a person's perspective can be held against? Perhaps, there is no objective or concrete perspectives of art. The artist's perspective is no more compelling or real than your own. That's the power of art. Perhaps, art is a continuous creative exploration, not merely one concrete perspective."
