Che Food Truck is taking over the kitchen at Churchhill

The Almighty Bao is out. Che Food Truck is moving in.

Toronto’s Churchhill bar on Dundas West is about to get a new tenant in its kitchen. The makers of Vegetabaos and the California Club Bao served their last steamed buns last night and starting next weekend, Che Food Truck will be testing out their menu of Argentinian street foods in a two-day pop up that could possibly be extended into a more permanent residency.

On the menu, expect Che’s signature choripan, scratch-made empanadas, steak with chimichurri, and a few more surprises. The bar is set to offer Fernet and Coke specials to compliment the offerings.

The pop-up comes at a perfect time for the food truck which is currently winding down its street-side services for the season. They’re stilling doing private events while also looking for a brick-and-mortar restaurant to call their own.

The Churchhill kitchen might just be the perfect place to hole up for winter, in addition to housing The Almighty Bao this past year, it was previously home to Luther’s Chicken.
