A winter storm warning is in effect for Montreal today

Brace yourselves for the worst!

Winter is clearly in full swing here in Montreal, as according to The Weather Network, a major winter storm warning is in effect.

The warning issued states that “Heavy snow and blowing snow will begin over Southern Quebec this morning…Significant snowfall amounts are expected…Strong to high winds will accompany the snow, causing widespread blowing snow.”

In Montreal specifically, The Weather Network is predicting up to 38cm of snow throughout the day today. Heavy snow will continue all day and night until it eases up gradually on Wednesday.

In addition to the snow, wind will be strong at 35 km/h NE, however wind gusts will get up to 65 km/h NE this afternoon.

Meanwhile temperatures are expected to reach a high of -6, feels like 15 today, and dip down to -16 overnight.
It’s probably best to stay indoors today, but if that’s not possible be sure to bundle up and be safe out there!
