US President Donald Trump took to Twitter on Saturday to express his latest opinions about NAFTA, claiming that both Canada and Mexico were being “difficult” in the renegotiation process.
“We are in the NAFTA (worst trade deal ever made) renegotiation process with Mexico & Canada. Both being very difficult, may have to terminate?” the President wrote in his Tweet.

The mayor of Hamilton, Ontario, was quick to fire back at Trump’s take on NAFTA and Canada and responded to the President on Twitter.
“The only thing that needs to be terminated is your presidency. Save yourself and your country. Resign and you will be popular everywhere,” said Fred Eisenberger.

In recent weeks, Trump has been very vocal about NAFTA renegotiations.
Last week, he spoke about the trade deal during a campaign-style rally in Phoenix, Arizona.
“Personally, I don’t think we can make a deal because we have been so badly taken advantage of, they have made such great deals, both of the countries, but in particular Mexico, that I don’t think we can make a deal. So I think we’ll end up probably terminating NAFTA at some point,” he told the crowd.
He went on to add that “I personally don’t think you can make a deal without a termination but we’re going to see what happens, OK? You’re in good hands, I can tell you.”
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mexico issued a response to Trump that includes the following statement:
Mexico will not negotiate NAFTA, nor any other aspect of the bilateral relationship, through social media or any other news platform.
