Five-time NBA All-Star Kyle Lowry and the Raptors have agreed to a one-year, $31 million contract extension, keeping him in Toronto through to the end of the 2020-21 season.

The extension takes the veteran Raptor guard out of July’s free-agent market and guarantees Lowry two years and $64 million, including the $33.3 million left on his expiring contract this season, according to a report from ESPN.

The 33-year-old Philadelphia native has been an integral member of the Raptors since joining the team in 2012, following four seasons with the Houston Rockets, and three years with the Memphis Grizzlies.

Not only has he made five All-Star appearances, but Lowry also helped lead the Raptors to win their first NBA Championship in franchise history, beating the Golden State Warriors 114-110 in a thrilling Game 6 this past June.
