Blue Jays rookie Bo Bichette is rewriting MLB's record books

There are two MLB rookies in the last 80 years to collect and extra-base hits in nine consecutive games: Ted Williams, one the greatest hitters of all time, and Bo Bichette.

This kid is playing un-Bo-lievable.

The 21-year-old rookie sensation continues to set records with each game in a Toronto Blue Jays uniform. Bichette also has doubles in nine consecutive games, which set a new MLB record. Prior to setting that record, he was tied with Yadier Molina and Derrek Lee as the only hitters in MLB history with doubles in eight straight games.

The totals through his first 11 games are eye-popping: 11 games since his MLB debut, Bichette has 20 hits, nine doubles and four home runs.

Bichette treated the home crowd to his very first home run in Toronto on Thursday with this monster two-run home run into the second deck of the Rogers Centre during the fifth inning.

With his father Dante in the stands, Bichette kept his extra-base streak going with this double in the bottom of the sixth inning.

There’s no precedent for what Bichette is doing at the plate for the Blue Jays. With each game, he’s rewriting the record book, collecting extra-base hits like they’re Halloween candy.

The future couldn’t be any brighter for Bichette and the Blue Jays.
