Canadian companies partner to launch world-first esports predictions game

Two Canadian esports companies have announced a new partnership they say will take live video game tournaments and events to a new level.

TGS Esports Inc. (TGS), a leading esports solutions provider in North America, and FansUnite, a global iGaming company that provides betting technology solutions for regulated sports, esports and casinos, are launching the world’s first live esports tournaments prediction games.

Live predictions will be completely free to participate in during every esports event which The Gaming Stadium runs, and will enable players and fans to pick certain outcomes during tournaments. At the end of each prediction game, leaders will win prizes like keyboards, headsets, and mice.

The prediction games will also be integrated into TGS’ Pepper platform, allowing anyone running a tournament, both amateur and professional, to offer predictions and rivalry challenges.

“The partnership will make watching TGS events an entirely new and engaging experience,” said Spiro Khouri, CEO of TGS. The prediction game FansUnite has developed allows TGS fans the ability to pick what will happen during broadcasts and win prizes based on being on top of the leaderboard. 

“Gamification is important as it allows the viewing experience to be taken to a new level. Instead of just watching tournaments fans can now play along and win prizes, which will change over time to keep the games fresh and exciting.”

TGS opened Canada’s first esports gaming stadium in Richmond, BC, in 2019. They have partnered with Fortune 500 brands, schools, and tournament organizers to build out their esports communities. The company has also interacted with over 200,000 gamers through tournaments, broadcast production and events.

According to a release from Vancouver-based FansUnite, esports revenue in 2020 was over $1 billion, excluding revenues from betting.
