Struggling Canadian businesses can now receive free communications advice

Whether it’s a mom and pop store that was just getting off the ground, an established restaurant, or a successful startup, business has been far from “as usual” lately.

Nearly one-third of businesses have reported that their revenues from the first quarter of 2020 were down by 40% or more. In March, a survey reported that 1.3 million Canadians were without work and an additional 2.1 million people were working reduced hours due to COVID-19.

The Canadian Agency Network (tCAN) is currently offering free communications advice across all industries. It’s meant to help those looking for a way to manage the economic fallout the pandemic has taken on their business, regain their footing, and adapt their strategy to protect both their company and its employees.

“Business owners across the gamut need to have a strategic communication plan in place especially during crisis situations,” says Managing Director of tCAN, Bill Whitehead Jr. “As experienced communicators, we want to share our expertise with organizations who may or may not have the capabilities in-house to manage this situation.”

Small, medium, and large businesses can utilize tCAN’s new service to help them restart their business, reconnect with their customers, reunite with their employees, or recover their hope in these uncertain times.

“Businesses large and small and across all industries are feeling the economic threat this crisis brings,” says Frank Palmer, Chairman of tCAN.

The tCAN network is made up of veteran marketers from the Canadian advertising industry with experience salvaging their own businesses from crises like SARS and the global financial crisis of 2008. Now, they’re ready to work with organizations to build resiliency during the COVID-19 crisis.

To utilize tCAN’s free service, businesses can consult the advice of a diverse network of ad and marketing agencies across Canada by using tCAN’s website. Filter by province or industry to access a list of independent agencies and their contact info.

tCAN was founded in 1963 and is Canada’s longest-standing and most extensive network of independent advertising, marketing, and communication agencies — with over 30 across Canada. The organization is built on a commitment to innovation and diversity and to deliver results for clients across the country.

“The tCAN family of agencies felt that we could provide some relief by lending our expertise in marketing and advertising to those who are uncertain about how to weather this storm. Whether it is communicating with clients, suppliers, or customers — we’re here to help,” says Palmer.
