Are you sitting down? For some of you, this news might be as shocking as when McDonald’s removed the McPizza from menus. Starbucks has taken a holiday classic, the Eggnog Latte, out of the seasonal rotation this year.
A representative for Starbucks told Dished Vancouver that the coffee chain is always “evaluating the items on its menu” and that it uses various criteria to determine these kinds of decisions.
“While the company no longer offers the Eggnog Latte, Starbucks partners (baristas) are happy to recommend an alternative holiday beverage or customization,” they told Dished Vancouver in an email.
Well, in true modern-day fashion, people are truly rattled by this news, and the internet is screaming out for help.

@Starbucks I’m very disappointed! Holiday faves coming back tomorrow w/o my fave #EggnogLatte. This is the 2nd time yall have pulled it in the last few years. Don’t understand! This is a popular drink. Considering boycott and/or petition again! #BringBackEggnogLatte

After this shit show 2020/2021, @Starbucks wants to really rub salt on the wounds by depriving me of the Eggnog Latte, arguably my favorite part of winter. Look whatcha did you little jerk. #EggnogLatte

No #eggnoglatte? Guess I will have to find a different coffee shop when I want one.

Hey @Starbucks… just saw the holiday drinks on the app as I was considering buying coffee on my way into work, but the significant lack of #eggnoglatte made the decision to say no easy. Sorry you just lost like 90% of my Holiday business with No Eggnog Latte. #notcool

But it’s not just Twitter users that are airing their grievances online about the seasonal sip being discontinued; there are also several online petitions requesting the item be returned to its rightful place on the holiday lineup.
Naturally, a handful of Facebook groups have also popped up, one asking for people’s help in the “fight to bring back the Eggnog Latte.”
Looks like it’s an all-out battle for Starbucks lovers online right now. I wonder if a new Sugar Cookie Oat Latte will make them feel better…
