Movie Review: 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' - It doesn't matter what I think

All I have to say about Star Wars: The Last Jedi is…

It’s really good. Go and see it.

To be fair, it wouldn’t really matter what I wrote about the latest chapter in the Star Wars saga. This movie is going to bring in close to 1.5 billion dollars when it’s all said and done. Reviews be damned, the world wants a piece of the force and movie critics can suck it!

No. Wait… please read our solid film reviews.

However, it’s a lot more fun to read reviews after you’ve seen the film so we can engage in civil Twitter discussion while releasing our nerd angst without ruining it for others.

Besides, most of my Star Wars loving friends and colleagues plug their ears; close their eyes at anything that could be even remotely spoiler’ish. I’m the same way.

Why read someone else’s opinion about the movie before you get a chance to form your own?

I will say this, I got sucked into all The Last Jedi trailers that I felt were giving too much away. I’m of the belief when it comes to promoting a big Hollywood movie less is always more.

But I’m here to say the trailers don’t actually spoil how magnificent this film truly is. The cinematography and effects are some of the best we’ve seen in the series and create some iconic eye candy that will be appreciated years from now. Director Rian Johnson puts his stamp on the film, takes a few chances and tells a fantastic story that will constantly leave you a bit uneasy.

It’s one of my favourite films of the year and something you can see multiple times.

Hey, I have a great idea; go and see it!
